King Henry VIII - 1528 Love Letters
Famous Love Letters
King Henry VIII (1491 - 1547) of England, determined to divorce his first wife, Catherine of Aragon, because she could not bare him a son. Henry broke from the Catholic Church to establish his own Church of England so that he could divorce Catherine to marry Anne Boleyn. In the meantime, he had an affair with Anne Boleyn and eventually married the pregnant Boleyn, when his divorce was official in 1533.
The love he shows to Anne would not last long as she is accused of adultry and incest and was executed for infidelity (a treasonous charge in the king's consort) in May 1536.

To Anne Boleyn
My Mistress and Friend,
I and my heart put ourselves in your hands, begging you to recommend us to your good grace and not to let absence lessen your affection...or myself the pang of absence is already to great, and when I think of the increase of what I must needs suffer it would be well nigh intolerable but for my firm hope of your unchangeable affection.
